Willis Carrier
26 November 1876 – 7 October 1950
Willis Haviland Carrier (1876-1950) was an American engineer best known for inventing modern air conditioning. In 1902 he designed the first system to control both temperature and humidity, originally to solve a humidity problem at a printing plant. He founded the Carrier Corporation, which became a leading manufacturer of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
