Hieronymus Bosch
c. 1450 – August 1516
Hieronymus Bosch was a Dutch painter from 's-Hertogenbosch in the Duchy of Brabant, famed for his fantastic, densely populated visions of sin, temptation, and damnation. His triptych The Garden of Earthly Delights is among the most enigmatic works in Western art. Little is documented of his life, and his imagery has inspired interpretation for five centuries.
