Henry Hudson
c. 1565 – c. 1611
Henry Hudson was an English navigator who made four voyages in search of a northern passage to Asia. Sailing for the Dutch East India Company in 1609 he explored the river later named the Hudson, and in 1610-1611 he entered the great bay that also bears his name. After a mutiny in June 1611 he was set adrift with his son and a few loyal crewmen and was never seen again.
